HISTORY OF THE PROJECT

Originating as a scrappy slice-of-life webcomic in the late aughts, CHUCK & MIKE began as a simple four-panel gag strip about a dysfunctional friendship. As its story became more expansive, it would quietly lay the rough foundation for what the series would eventually become. The project later expanded into an animated pilot pitch and an 11-issue comic outline, before evolving into its current incarnation as a limited comic series published through Dual Animal Anthology.

THE STORY

The series follows Chuck, an alcoholic bear with an attitude problem and trust issues, and Mike, a hyperactive iguana with a microscopic attention span and a massive heart. It probably would have been easier if their lives had never crossed paths, but when a strange gem from space links their minds together, they’re swept into a world of government conspiracies, hidden worlds, and shadowy organizations determined to harness the gem's power.
