Walter Areas

Walter Areas is a producer, editor, and operations-focused creative leader with a background in video game design, localization, and large-scale production management.

He began his career in the indie and mobile games space, producing and coordinating titles across console and mobile platforms. Areas designed controller layouts and level achievements for Kerbal Space Program on console, produced a wide variety of mobile games, and managed external development partnerships for companies such as Ubisoft and Qualcomm.

Throughout this period, he oversaw cross-platform releases into PlayStation Network and Xbox Live ecosystems, negotiated licensing deals, built production schedules and budgets, and guided projects from concept through delivery. His work also included international carrier relations, localization, quality assurance, and business development across Latin American and European markets—giving him a global perspective on distribution and audience strategy.

After transitioning from the games industry, Areas moved into film and documentary production, serving as Production Manager and co-producer on the G4TV retrospective Attack of the Doc!. Produced during the COVID-19 pandemic using fully remote workflows, the film became an early example of modern remote production and earned widespread acclaim among fans. The project also marked the beginning of his long-term partnership with Bobby Schwartz.

Today, Areas serves as CFO, Co-Founder, Producer, and Editor of Dual Animal Studios LLC. He oversees the company’s financial strategy, budgeting, and operations while leading production pipelines, schedules, and delivery across all projects. Known for his meticulous planning and team-player mindset, Areas specializes in turning ambitious creative visions into structured, achievable outcomes, while helping independent artists scale their projects sustainably.
